Kermesse SportThursday, September 25th, 2025 at 6:35amThe October 5th finale of the 2025 Tour de Pines sees the long and medium routes pass through sections of the Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst (JB MDL), the only tri-service base in the Department of Defense, and includes units from all six of the armed forces branches.
The facility is an amalgamation of McGuire Air Force Base, the Army's Fort Dix, and the Navy's Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, which were merged in 2009.
The base’s contiguous 42,000 acres (>65 square miles) spans more than 20 miles from east to west. As you can see from how green the map is. much of the base is within the Pines.

Kermesse SportWednesday, September 24th, 2025 at 7:48amOn Saturday October 4th (Day 3) of the 2025 Tour de Pines, the Short Route of the Tuckerton Seaport Journey goes past the NJ State Wildland Firefighter memorial.
This memorial recognizes firefighters from two separate tragedies: The 1936 Wildfire, where five firefighters died in a large blaze near this area and a 1977 Wildfire, where four volunteer firefighters from the West Creek Fire Company lost their lives while battling a fire that consumed 2,300 acres.
While the memorial is located directly on the short route, it is just a quick detour off the Long & Medium routes.

Kermesse SportTuesday, September 23rd, 2025 at 1:23pmDay 2 of the Tour de Pines (the Atlantic Cape Ramble on October 3rd) starts and finishes at Estell Manor Park in Mays Landing, NJ.
The park contains the ruins of the Estellville Glassworks, an early 19th century glass factory that was in operation from 1825-1877. The glassworks flourished during the mid-1800's; it was possibly the first glassworks that had the capability of producing both hollow ware (bottles) and window glass. The Estell family owned and operated the factory until 1858.
You can explore the ruins following your ride.
